Get to Know Me
On and off the field
Baseball has been a major part of my life ever since I can remember. I dreamed big and put in the hard work necessary to give myself the best opportunity to succeed. Along the way I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge from my coaches, teammates, and playing experience.
My professional playing career spanned 12 years starting in 2006 after the Chicago Cubs selected me 13th overall in the 1st round out of Clemson University. It ended in 2018 after a short stint with the Los Angeles Dodgers organization and they let me end my playing career with a storybook ending. In my final professional at bat I got to trot around the bases one last time with a homerun. In those 12 years, I played parts of 6 years in the Major Leagues with the Cubs, Rockies, and Giants. The highlight of my career would have to be earning the team's Heart and Hustle Award for the 2010 season. This award is giving to the player who demonstrates a passion for the game of baseball and best embodies the values, spirit and traditions of the game. What an amazing honor!
In my personal life, I am married to my amazing wife Molly and we have 3 awesome boys, Max, Will, and Theo. I am on a mission to make baseball enjoyable for them at a young age and hopefully help them reach their potential if they decide to go all in with baseball.
My goal for TyCo Baseball is to empower players, parents, and new coaches with proper, easy to understand knowledge of the baseball swing. I want players to know their own swing better than anyone and parents and new coaches to teach with confidence.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
Tyler has been tremendously helpful for my 10 year old son, his confidence at the plate translated to confidence everywhere on the baseball field. Tyler's individualized approach to hitting focuses on the athlete's strengths and hitting style and his ability to work with the younger players is truly impressive.
Tyler has been a family friend for 4 years. I found Tyler through Tim Gansrow looking for a trainer for my 14 year old son and 10 year old son. Tyler explained to me that you cannot just buy a 6 pack lesson or 10 pack lesson then suddenly transform a persons swing permanently. The training needs to be frequent and routine. Since then, not only have my 2 boys swings dramatically improved, their approach to the plate has also changed. Pretty much everything that I could do for the boys prior to Tyler, Tyler has corrected and improved their swing path. Tyler also works on glove work, and situational awareness giving the boys quizzes as they train with him. Tyler is now family and we are forever grateful to have him!
